I don’t usually pay much attention to calls for me to email or phone my members of Congress, because two of the three are rabid Republicans and they could care less about my progressive opinions. Maybe you have the same problem, and watch in envy as others sway their representatives.
If so, this time you’re in luck.
I’ve just sent the following email to both of my Republican senators (my congressman is a true Fightin’ Dem, so he doesn’t need it). It is exactly the message they need to hear right now, and I’m confident that if Americans flood their inboxes with the message, they’ll get the message.
Dear Senator Tillis:
Either you side with a traitor (Trump) or you side with America. Which is it?
Silence is complicity.

Those annoying contact forms usually make you choose a subject from a list that never quite seems to cover my concern. But for these emails I found just the right category: Crime/Justice. Homeland Security would work, too.
I lived (by the skin of my teeth) through the Nixon presidency. I watched how, at the very darkest moment, the tide suddenly turned, and how Republican congressmen seemed to get religion. We did it then; we can do it now. Please join me.
